So it's been a while since my last post. I've had other posts in my drafts ready to go but I just wasn't feeling that creative spark and decided not to post them quite yet. So I let my life kind of take over. Since my last post, I graduated from college, moved halfway across the country once again, and started my post-grad "adult" job as a VIP Tour Guide intern at Disney World. It's kind of crazy to reflect about how much as changed in the past few months. But I figured I would bring y'all up to speed on what's been going on.
Back in February, I applied for like 25 Disney Professional Internships, the Disney College Program, and the DCP Summer Alumni program because I knew I had to go back. At the end of April, after two rounds of interviews, I found out I was extended an offer to be a VIP Tour Guide at Disney and I was shocked because I never thought I would have gotten that Professional Internship. I obviously accepted it because who wouldn't want the coolest job in the world but I'll talk more about that later in a different post.
Come mid-May, I graduated from Southeast Missouri State and left that town as fast as I could. I honestly had a pretty mediocre college experience but that's also another post for a different time. I moved back home the same day I graduated since I had some loose ends to tie up at home such as getting my wisdom teeth pulled out and my graduation party. The wisdom teeth removal was truly one of the most horrific things I've ever been through. I was fully awake, heard everything that was going on, felt some of it until I told them I needed more numbing stuff, and ended up getting an infection in my jaw because I was never prescribed antibiotics. I feel #blessed to never have to go through that ever again.
Then June slowly rolls around, I picked up my life for what it felt like the hundredth time and moved back to Florida. I moved into my new house with three roommates and started my dream job. The first two weeks were all about training and learning everything about Disney. I was honestly so scared that I would fail our exam we take at the end of training, but I ended up passing, wooo! We had our "plaiduation" day the day after where we earned our prestigious "D" pin. Becoming a VIP Tour Guide was a very surreal feeling since I never thought I would have gotten this opportunity.
Flash forward to today, July 9th, and I'm laying in bed with my roommates cat and typing this post. I can honestly say that I love my job and I'm loving this new life I am creating for myself. But at the same time, there are a lot of things I miss such as my boyfriend, my family, and my cats. It's been quite the adjustment (especially to the Florida humidity) but it's been well worth it so far. Let's hope my motivation for blogging sticks and that I continue with keeping you guys updated with my life.
